The ceasefire held. The Aldorian government, shocked by the revelation of the rogue faction, agreed to peace talks aboard a neutral station. Captain Elara Vance represented the Earth Fleet, her heart heavy with the weight of the negotiations.

"Command, this is Vance. I'm arriving at the station."

"Copy, Vance. Good luck."

She met the Aldorian ambassador-a tall, silver-skinned figure named Kaelen. His eyes were cautious, but his voice was steady.

"We have both been deceived," he said. "But trust must be rebuilt."

Elara nodded. "I agree."

The talks were tense. Both sides had suffered losses, and old wounds ran deep. But Elara was patient, and Kaelen was sincere.

"We propose a joint investigation," Kaelen said. "A task force to root out the rogue faction."

Elara considered. "I can agree to that."

The treaty was signed, and the task force was formed. Earth and Aldorian officers worked side by side, their mission to bring the conspirators to justice.

As Elara returned to the Odyssey, she felt a cautious hope.

"Peace is fragile," she said to her crew. "But we have taken the first step."

The conflict was not over, but the path to peace had been opened. And she would walk it, no matter how long it took. The End.

The cemetery was quiet, the sun warm on Lena's face. She knelt before her grandfather's grave, Alex beside her, a small flag in her hands. The stone was simple, his name carved into the marble, the dates of his birth and death.

"I found them," she said. "The places you fought. The people you saved. The friends you lost."

She placed the flag at the base of the stone, touched the cold marble.

"I met a man in Bastogne. He remembered you. He carried your photograph for seventy years." She paused, her voice catching. "He said you gave him chocolate. He said you told him he had brave eyes."

Alex put his hand on her shoulder.

"I never understood," she continued. "Why you couldn't talk about the war. Why you woke up screaming. Why you stared at the horizon like you were waiting for something."

She wiped her eyes, took a deep breath.

"I understand now. You saw things no one should see. You did things no one should have to do. But you came home. You built a life. You loved us."

She stood, looked at the grave, at the sky, at the world he had helped save.

"I'll never forget. I'll tell my children. And their children. And everyone who will listen."

Alex took her hand. "Ready?"

She nodded. "Ready."

They walked away, the cemetery behind them, the future ahead. The war was long over. But its lessons would never be forgotten.

And Lena would carry them with her, always. As her grandfather had carried his. As they all had.
